Event medical CQC registration timeline, 2026 to 2027

The dates that matter for event medical providers registering with CQC, and a plan to get a complete application in by 1 March 2027.

The dates for event healthcare registration are set in law, so CQC cannot move them. Here they are, with a plan that works backwards from the date that matters most.

DateWhat it means
7 September 2026CQC began accepting applications from event healthcare providers.
1 March 2027Complete applications received by now should be decided on or before 6 December 2027.
1 March to 5 December 2027You can still apply, but may not get a decision in time.
6 December 2027CQC starts monitoring and enforcing. TDDI at an event without registration becomes an offence.

A plan that works backwards from 1 March 2027

  1. Now: confirm your scope service by service, and decide which legal entity will register.
  2. November and December: appoint your registered manager and nominated individual. If you hold controlled drugs, apply for the Home Office licence now, as it can take at least six months.
  3. December and January: write your statement of purpose and the policies, governance and staffing model the service will really run on.
  4. January: a readiness review and practice interviews.
  5. February: submit a complete, consistent application, well before 1 March.

You can keep working at events while your application is assessed. The risk is an incomplete or late application that is not decided by December.
