For new providers registering a care service.
We support new providers registering domiciliary care, complex care and supported living services, and existing providers adding a new location or regulated activity.
Providing healthcare at events? See CQC registration for event healthcare providers.
Registration is where a service shows CQC it will be safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led before it has supported anyone. That means a statement of purpose that matches reality, policies that fit the service, a governance system that will work from day one, and a registered manager who can explain all of it with confidence.
Our team has registered services, been through the registration interview more than once and run those services afterwards. We know what the questions are really asking.

Common questions
Do event medical providers need to register with CQC?
Yes, if they provide treatment by or under the supervision of a paramedic, nurse, doctor or other listed healthcare professional. Applications opened on 7 September 2026, and CQC enforces from 6 December 2027. Read our guide to CQC registration for event medical providers or see registration support for event healthcare providers.
What do we need in place before applying to register with CQC?
A clear statement of purpose, the right regulated activities, a registered manager, policies that fit your service, a governance system, and recruitment and training plans. CQC will test all of it at the registration interview. Read our step by step guide to registering with CQC and what to expect at the registration interview.
How long does CQC registration take?
It varies with CQC's workload and the quality of the application. A complete, consistent application avoids the back and forth that causes most delays. We will give you a realistic view on the free call.
Do you submit the application for us?
The application is made by the provider through CQC's own online service. We prepare and review everything with you so that what you submit is complete and consistent.
Can you help if our application has already been refused or withdrawn?
Yes. We will review what happened, what CQC said and what needs to change before you apply again.
Do you help providers in Devon and the South West?
Yes. We are based in Newton Abbot and support new providers on site across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset, and remotely anywhere in England. See our CQC consultant service in Devon and the South West.
Do we need governance software to register?
No. You need a governance system that works. You can use Eviqa Assure from day one, but there is no obligation.
